Messi plays key role in decision for Scaloni to remain as Argentina boss

Lionel Scaloni has declared that conversations with key players such as Lionel Messi have reignited his passion to remain as the manager of Argentina’s national team. In a recent press conference, Scaloni revealed his thoughts after considering stepping down following the team’s victory over Brazil in a FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Scaloni specifically mentioned speaking with Messi, as well as other influential players like Angel Di Maria, Lautaro Martinez, and Nicolas Otamendi, to discuss his future plans. Despite feeling drained after Argentina’s World Cup win, Scaloni expressed his gratitude towards his players for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to the team.

Reflecting on the past year, Scaloni described it as challenging despite the World Cup triumph. He emphasized the importance of open dialogue with the players to address any concerns and ensure unity within the team. While acknowledging the unpredictable nature of the future, Scaloni confirmed his decision to continue leading Argentina.

Following their friendly against El Salvador, Argentina will face Costa Rica in another match next week. However, they will be without captain Messi, who is sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Inter Miami. The team will be aiming to maintain their form in Messi’s absence and build on their recent successes under Scaloni’s leadership.
