Greater Noida begins work on city expansion to acquire 28000 hectares of land

The Greater Noida authority recently shared a statement telling their plan to expand the city by acquiring 28,000 hectares of agricultural land in regard to the high demand for residential as well as industrial land in the city as per the officials.

Currently, Greater Noida City is spread over 22,255 hectares of land i.e. between Dadri and Noida and will begin the process once they get approval from the Uttar Pradesh government. 50,000 hectare of land has already been acquired for the city development out of which around 22,255 hectare has been taken from the villagers of 124 villages, it will be used for further development. “The acquisition of an additional 28,000 hectares of land is part of the authority’s plan for expansion. The land acquisition process will begin once a survey and proposal have been completed. We are currently conducting a survey and preparing a proposal for the land acquisition process. Once this is completed, we will present it for final approval at our next board meeting,” stated Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority.

As per officials, the Greater Noida authority recently hired an agency to work on the proposed master plan for the 2041 last year in October but the plan still needs to be finalised by the Uttar Pradesh government. “Once the draft of the master plan-2041 is ready, it will be discussed and approved by the authority and the Uttar Pradesh government, as well as other agencies involved,” an official associated with the matter stated.

The city of Greater Noida was established by the government of Uttar Pradesh in January 1991 under the UP Industrial Area Development Act 1976 as a high-tech industrial township.
