True or Fake: ‘Land Before Time’ Remake Poster Out, Film To Release in January 2025?

‘The Land Before Time,’ a legendary animated classic is yet again in the news. A new poster of the series is out which made fans believe that Don Bluth’s classic is being remade by Disney and Pixar. Since 2016, when the 14th and final film was released, the franchise was dormant. However, it was started in 1996 and went on for two long decades.

The first movie of ‘The Land Before Time’ was produced by renowned filmmakers George Lucas and Steven Speilberg. Moreover, the distribution rights remained with Universal. Dinosaur fans, in recent years,s have been left with speculations whether the cute, and admirable Apatosaurus Littlefoot will be back to Theatre and Television or not.

New Poster Release of ‘Land Before Time’ Remake

A poster has gone viral showcasing a Disney remake of ‘The Land Before Time.’ Fans are left questioning the legitimacy and authenticity of the poster getting viral. It seems that the project has been taken together by Pixar and Disney so that modern animation with 3D can be opted for, deviating from its 2D animated roots. The poster features three small dinosaurs. As per underlying assumptions they are Littlefoot, Cera, and the adorable Ducky.

The description of the poster demonstrates that the movie is set to release in January 2025 and will follow, “Littlefoot and friends [as they] journey through lush landscapes and encounter enchanting surprises:”

Snopes fact check

The poster was shared on December 11, 202,3 by online users. It was first shared by a Facebook page named YODA BBY ABY. However, Snopes.com looked into the prevailing rumor and examined the matter thoroughly. It concluded that the prevailing rumor about the release of the remake of the nd Before Time’ is untrue and fake.

The bio of the Facebook page, YODA BBY ABY read the following, “I’m just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news.” Thus, the post was not genuine, rather it was done just to create good fun.

Disney and Pixar would not be able to remake the legendary animated classic as the distribution rights of the franchise are still with Universal only.
