Auburn Running Back, Brian Battie’s Health Update After Shooting Incident 

On Saturday morning, an unfortunate event unfolded in Sarasota, Florida. This left Brian Battie, an Auburn running back, a victim of the shooting incident in Sarasota critically injured.

According to the Sarasota Herald Tribune, the Sarasota County office’s press release revealed that they received a report of a shooting incident around 3:30 a.m. Thus, emergency services were dispatched immediately.

In the incident, four people sustained severe injuries and were immediately transported to local hospitals. Another victim succumbed to injuries.

The individual who died was identified as Tommy Battie, Brian Battie’s elder brother. Tommy, who was just 24 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene where the shooting occurred, reported USA Today.

The press release read, “Deputies who initially responded to the Tallywood Centre Plaza witnessed a large crowd with multiple shooting victims in the parking lot. Three additional victims were transported to local hospitals in Sarasota and Manatee counties.”

Brian Battie’s Condition Update

Auburn running back, Brian Battie is currently hospitalized at a local hospital in Sarasota in the Intensive Care Unit. According to a recent update by local media, Battie’s condition has improved, enabling him to move his hands. Moreover, the level of brain functionality was being assessed by the doctors.

A representative for Auburn’s spokesperson added that the university is trying its best to gather data about the incident. Moreover, the institution is also cooperating and collaborating with the authorities to extend possible assistance and support.

This shooting case is active and currently under investigation by law enforcement agencies.

Moreover, a GoFundMe page has also been created to assist Battie and his family during this crucial time.

Furthermore, the college football world sent numerous messages wishing a quick recovery and well wishes on social media.
