Gujarat BJP MLA Ketan Inamdar resigns, considers withdrawing resignation
Vadodara, March 20 (IANS) Gujarat BJP MLA Ketan Inamdar submitted his resignation from the state Assembly, citing “self-respect” and voicing concerns about the party’s treatment of grassroots workers. Inamdar, a three-time MLA from Savli constituency in Vadodara district, indicated a potential return to the party following discussions with senior leaders in Gandhinagar.
Inamdar’s decision to resign echoes a similar move in January 2020, which was never finalized, pointing to ongoing issues within the party. The MLA emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing the contributions of long-serving party workers at the grassroots level.
After sending his resignation via email to Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, Inamdar sought a meeting with Gujarat BJP President C.R. Paatil and Vadodara’s party In-charge Minister, Harsh Sanghavi. Following these discussions, Inamdar stated that his resignation was not a “political tactic” and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the BJP’s success in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The developments surrounding Inamdar’s resignation highlight internal dynamics within the Gujarat BJP, with the MLA’s reconsideration indicating a potential resolution to his grievances. The episode underscores the importance of addressing concerns raised by party members to maintain cohesion and unity within the organization.
