IANS Interview: Don't see Shirur contest as challenge but an opportunity to win with big margin, says Shivajirao Adhalrao

Shivajirao Adhalrao, a three-term MP, is making a comeback to the NCP led by Ajit Pawar for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He will contest from Shirur constituency against Amol Kolhe. Adhalrao believes the upcoming election is an opportunity for victory with a big margin.

In an interview, Adhalrao stated that despite facing challenges in the past, he sees the situation as favorable for a win. He remains confident in the support of the people and aims to rectify past mistakes for a successful outcome in the upcoming election.

Adhalrao expressed his priorities for the Shirur constituency, focusing on the completion of important infrastructure projects like the Pune Nashik high-speed railway. He also aims to address issues such as traffic congestion and job creation for the youth in industrial areas.

Having decided to join the Ajit Pawar faction after being inspired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s support, Adhalrao dismissed criticism of party-hopping for personal gains. He emphasized his commitment to serving the people and the development of Shirur.

After nearly two decades, Adhalrao’s reunion with Dilip Walse-Patil is seen as an opportunity to work together for the betterment of the constituency. Both leaders share a vision of progress and development for Shirur, promising a new era of collaboration and determination.
