Viewer discretion advised: Content includes unconventional charity activities involving armpit and foot licking.

Earlier this week, a video went viral on social media featuring students from Edmond Public Schools participating in unexpected armpit-licking games.

The viral clip displays students licking chocolate, peanut butter, and other substances off staff members’ armpits and feet.

According to the institution, this activity has been occurring in their schools for years and is associated with philanthropic events.

Despite explanations about the fundraising events, netizens on social media remain skeptical of the school’s statements as users on X (formerly Twitter) express their views over the video that is currently circulating on the internet.

Sportskeeda reported that the video was first brought to light by Fox 25 on March 2, featuring students from Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, licking peanut butter off the feet of other students as well as staff for charity.

It was part of the school’s Wonderful Week of Fundraising, where they were raising money for Not Your Average Joe Coffee, conducted on February 29.

As the video went viral on social media, Fox 25 later reported that these armpit-licking contests had been a part of the charity week at many Edmond Public Schools for years.

The viral clip is from Edmond Memorial High and Edmond North, which are located in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The school had over 2,504 students enrolled in the academic session 2019-20, as informed by Wikipedia.

FOX25 sent the contest clips to Edmond Public Schools for their statement, to which the institution replied that the feet-licking contest didn’t happen this year. Later, a district spokesperson released a statement, saying:

“We are proud of our students for the tireless work and immense effort they put into each of our philanthropy weeks. Already this school year, our North and Santa Fe students have raised more than $416,000 for local non-profits with Swine Week at Memorial still to come. EPS school administrators, just like our surrounding districts, work with student council sponsors to make these weeks as impactful as possible. Through their efforts over many months, metro area high school students learn countless life lessons on how to make a positive difference in their community.”

Netizen’s Reaction

The public reaction has been largely skeptical and critical, with many people expressing disbelief and disapproval on social media platforms like Twitter and X (formerly known as Twitter).
