Los Angeles, March 1 (IANS) – Actress Emily Blunt is currently in negotiations to play the role of Dawn Staples in the upcoming film ‘The Smashing Machine’ alongside Dwyane Johnson. Blunt would portray the character of the new wife to legendary MMA fighter Mark Kerr.

The movie revolves around Dawn’s struggles to find her place within Champion’s chaotic and contradictory world while trying to establish a life together. The story is set in the year 2000 and is based on Kerr’s life, focusing on his battles with winning, relationships, substance abuse, and friendship as reported by deadline.com.
