  2. Making the Paste:

Take 1 onion, 3 green chillies, 1 inch of ginger, 3-5 cloves of garlic, and half a cup of water. Blend the mixture into a fine paste.

  3. Making the Masala:

In a kadai, take 3 tbsp mustard oil, add 1 tsp cumin seeds, then add the paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, and 1/2 tsp red chili powder, then sauté the mixture again for 1-2 minutes. Add 1/2 tsp cumin powder. Stir the masala and turn off the stove.

  4. Smashing Potatoes with Masala :

Take four boiled potatoes, add the masala mixture into the potatoes, then add the boiled and cooked banana flowers into the potatoes. Further add, 1/2 cup fried peanuts, 2 tbsp fried fresh coconut, a pinch of sugar, salt to taste, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 2 tsp bhaja masala. After adding everything, give the entire mixture a good smash. Then add one cup of dried bread crumbs and mix well with the help of your hands.

  5. Chop Preparation:

In a plate take dried bread crumbs. In another bowl take 2 tbsp cornstarch, add salt to taste, and 1/2 cup water, mix everything well and make the cornstarch slurry. Take the potato mixture in your hands, and roll your hands to give it a round and flat shape. Then dip it first into the cornstarch slurry then coat it with dried bread crumbs on the plate. Repeat the same process until you get the coated bread crumbs round and flat chops. After making, refrigerate the chops for 30 minutes.

  6. Frying Mochar Chop:

Take a kadai, and put oil so that the chops can be fried easily. When the oil heats up, add 2-3 chops at a time and deep fry them. Take out the mocha chops and serve them with green onions, coriander leaves, tomato, and chilly dips. Enjoy!

NOTES

Cook the banana flower until it softens completely, or else it will be chewy.

You can also add chopped cashews, and raisins to the potatoes for an enhanced flavour.

Prepare the chop flat, so that everything cooks properly.

Do not skip to refrigerate the Chop.
